Your photos stay with you.

FreeHEICtoJPG is an independent browser tool for making JPEG copies of HEIC and HEIF photos. You can use it without creating an account.

Local conversion, from start to download

Your browser reads the files you choose, converts one photo at a time and prepares downloads on your device. Original and converted image files are not uploaded to our servers. Normal website delivery and basic traffic measurement are separate; our privacy notice explains them.

A useful copy, with clear limits

Choose up to 30 photos, 25 MB each and 150 MB in total. The input limit is 40 megapixels per image. Adjust JPEG quality and optionally resize the longest edge, then download individual results or a ZIP. Keep your originals: JPEG is lossy, camera and location metadata are not copied, and this tool exports one still image per file.

Built with open-source components

The converter uses libheif and libde265 to decode supported images and fflate for ZIP downloads. The decoder is loaded only when you begin converting. Read the licenses, corresponding source and build information.

How we write our guides

Our conversion guides distinguish this tool’s tested controls from device features documented by Apple and Microsoft. Each guide links to its sources and shows its review date. Device menus and software support can change; check the linked documentation for your version.

Independent and free to use

FreeHEICtoJPG is not affiliated with Apple, Microsoft or Google. The public converter does not require a paid plan. See the terms of use for practical limitations.
