Terms of use
Last updated: 12 September 2026
FreeHEICtoJPG is a free browser tool for converting supported HEIC and HEIF still images into JPEG files.
Your files and your rights
Use the tool only with files you own or have permission to process. You retain your rights to your images. Selecting a file does not transfer ownership or grant us permission to publish it. Do not use the service for unlawful purposes or to interfere with its operation.
Conversion limits
Keep your originals and review converted files before relying on them. JPEG conversion is lossy. Colours, HDR information, transparency, original metadata and additional images or video in a container may not be preserved. This version exports one still image per file, using the primary image when available.
A batch supports up to 30 files, 25 MB per file and 150 MB in total. Images above 40 megapixels are not supported. Available browser memory and file complexity can impose lower practical limits. Not every HEIC or HEIF variant is supported.
Availability and responsibility
The service is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability or compatibility with every file. We may update features or technical limits. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for losses caused by relying on a conversion without retaining or checking your originals. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
Third-party software
The conversion engine and ZIP library are open-source components with their own licenses. Their license rights, including applicable modification and reverse-engineering rights, are not restricted by these terms. See Open source.
Privacy
Image processing takes place in your browser. Technical connection information is processed to deliver the website. Read the privacy notice for details.
