How to convert HEIC to JPG on iPhone
If a form or attachment requires a JPG, make a JPEG copy of your existing HEIC photo. You can use Preview when it is available on your iPhone, or use this browser converter for a batch. Keep the HEIC original until you have checked the exported picture and successfully attached it.
Use Preview if it is available on your iPhone
Open the image in Preview, use the menu beside its filename, and select Export. Pick JPEG; the size slider is optional. These controls are documented in Apple’s current Preview guide. If your iPhone does not have Preview, use the browser method below.
After exporting, check the saved copy before sending it. When the destination asks you to choose an attachment, select this JPEG copy rather than the original HEIC. Simply editing the original filename to end in .jpg does not convert its image data.
Convert a batch in your browser
- Open the HEIC to JPG converter in an updated browser. Tap Choose photos and select the HEIC or HEIF files you want to convert. The file picker’s available locations depend on your device.
- Set Image quality. Start with 90% and inspect the result. For full pixel dimensions, leave Image size at Keep original dimensions.
- Tap Convert to JPG. Keep the page open while the files are processed. A finished row shows the new dimensions and file size.
- Use Download beside a completed photo. For several results, choose the ZIP download button, wait for preparation, then tap Save ZIP. Save your results before closing the page.
Conversion runs inside your browser; image files are not uploaded to this website’s servers. That describes the conversion itself, not any cloud storage location you choose when saving or sharing. The privacy notice explains website connection data and traffic measurement.
When a photo will not convert
A batch allows up to 30 files, with a 25 MB limit per file and 150 MB total. This version rejects images above 40 megapixels before resizing, so choosing a smaller output size will not bypass that input limit. For memory errors on a phone, try one photo at a time or use a desktop browser.
Check that the selected file really ends in .heic or .heif and is not empty or damaged. If your picker supplies an already converted JPG, you do not need to run it through this HEIC tool. Test that copy directly in the destination form.
Take future photos as JPEG
On supported iPhones, go to Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible to use JPEG for new photos. This changes future captures; it does not convert your existing library. Apple explains the format setting and compatibility.
Keep the original for features a JPG cannot carry over
This converter creates one still image per file. It does not copy location or camera metadata, Live Photo video, depth data, or every image in a HEIF container.
