When should I choose JPG instead of PNG?
JPG is useful for photographs, email attachments and forms that accept JPEG only. It often reduces photographic PNG file sizes. For logos, screenshots, diagrams or small text, compare carefully: JPEG compression can introduce visible ringing around sharp edges.
How to convert PNG to JPG

- Keep JPG selected. Choose original dimensions or a maximum longest edge. Adjust quality to suit your next step.

What happens to transparent areas?
JPG cannot store transparency. This converter composites transparent and partially transparent pixels onto a white background before encoding. Choose PNG or WebP when the background needs to remain transparent.
Are JPG and JPEG different outputs?
They are extensions for the same image format. Downloads here use .jpg. Changing the extension of a PNG is not conversion; this tool decodes the PNG and creates actual JPEG image data.
Can I keep photo metadata?
Metadata is excluded by default. Keep metadata transfers supported EXIF capture dates, camera and lens make/model, and exposure information when present. GPS location has a separate opt-in. MakerNotes, serial numbers, thumbnails, XMP and other unsupported fields are not copied. Check the status beside each result; not all image viewers display EXIF in every format.
Limits and privacy
Batch convert up to 30 files, 25 MB per file and 150 MB combined. Images above 40 megapixels are rejected. Results also share a 150 MB limit. Decoding and conversion run in your browser without photo uploads. Use a current browser; its available memory and encoder support affect conversion.
