Why does a downloaded image need conversion?
Some websites deliver images in WebP even when an older editor or document workflow expects JPEG. Renaming the file is not enough. This tool creates JPEG data from the decoded WebP so compatible apps can read the result.
How to convert WebP to JPG
- Choose your WebP images, or drag them into the converter.
- Keep JPG selected. Choose original dimensions or a maximum longest edge. Adjust quality to suit your next step.
- Click Convert and review each result. Download individual files or prepare a ZIP for the batch.
Will the new JPG look exactly the same?
JPEG introduces lossy compression. Choose higher quality for more detail, but keep the WebP original. Transparent areas are placed on white because JPEG cannot represent alpha. For transparency or no additional lossy encoding of rendered pixels, use WebP to PNG instead.
Can I convert an animated WebP?
This tool accepts still WebP images only. Animated files show an explicit message. It does not export animation frames or video. A file may also fail if damaged or above the file-size or pixel limits.
Can I keep photo metadata?
Metadata is excluded by default. Keep metadata transfers supported EXIF capture dates, camera and lens make/model, and exposure information when present. GPS location has a separate opt-in. MakerNotes, serial numbers, thumbnails, XMP and other unsupported fields are not copied. Check the status beside each result; not all image viewers display EXIF in every format.
Limits and privacy
Batch convert up to 30 files, 25 MB per file and 150 MB combined. Images above 40 megapixels are rejected. Results also share a 150 MB limit. Decoding and conversion run in your browser without photo uploads. Use a current browser; its available memory and encoder support affect conversion.
